NY City May 2015

Posted by Peggy Daniels on April 11, 2016 at 11:40 PM Comments comments (0)

In May 2015 Algie's House went to NY City.  We got snacks from the airline and we gave them out along with bottled water, fruit and money.  One lady was sitting on the street and I asked her if she wanted me to buy her something to eat and she said someone had bought her some and she just wanted something to drink so I bought her a soda.  Another man was sleep on a bench so we just put food and water next to him.  I had about a hundred dollars and as I saw people in need I would go up to them and give them some money and or food.  It was great being able to go all the way to NY and do God's work.  I can't wait to go back or where ever he leads us. I pray we can do more next time.

Our first client has a job and not living on the street

Posted by Peggy Daniels on November 28, 2012 at 9:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Woohoo. Algie's House has helped its first homeless client be homeless no more. He started his new job today  November 28, 2012 and is living with someone. His goal is to have his own place in 30 days. We are serious about what we do. He will also be taking money management classes to help him handle his money so he can remain self-sufficient.  We will post his story once he gets his own place so you can get the real story.   We did a lot with only a little. It makes you wonder why organizations that have millions can't do more. Thanks for those that have supported us and we ask those that haven't please give and help us help another person get off the streets or send me a message on facebook. We need your help. God bless you!

Busines Plan for Phase I

Business Plan

We will provide temporary housing for men and give them training in life skills.

To help them regain their pride and dignity.

To help them become self sufficient for life, not just a day, and be able to help their children become self sufficient.

We will provide housing for two years. During that time they will be required to take classes in money mgt., interviewing, stress mgt., their purpose in life and health care and more. They will also work and pay rent. Each client will be required to put a portion of their income in a savings account which they will use to get their own housing once they have completed the program. A certificate will be given to all that complete the program. They will help renovate the building that will be used for the ministry.

If you would like to give or volunteer please email me at [email protected] or on face book under Algie's House of Refuge.
